School Dinners are Meat Free on a Monday.
One day a week when meat will not be on your school menu.
Every Monday there will be a variety of homemade, delicious, meat free dishes to eat. We are doing this to reduce the carbon footprint because we care about the future of our planet. We are helping to fight climate change.
You will be able to choose from a range of vegetarian and fish dishes each Monday.
Why not make this meat free recipe at home... Please make sure an adult supervise you when making this recipe.
4 white fish fillets
1 large onion
1 tin chopped tomatoes
1 tbsp tomato puree
½ tsp dried mixed herbs
50g grated cheese
1. Place fish portions on a lightly greased tin.
2. For the tomato topping: finely chop the onion, and fry in a little oil until soft. Drain the chopped tomatoes and combine together with the cooked onion, tomato puree and herbs.
3. Spread tomato mixture over the fish fillets and sprinkle with grated cheese.
4. Bake at 200oC, gas mark 6 for 15-20 minutes or until the cheese is golden and the fish is cooked.
