Menus

We appreciate that high school pupils have different needs and demands; we have to consider current food trends, and the cultural diversity of the City.

We therefore offer a bespoke menu service to each of our high schools, tailoring menus to the tastes and preferences of pupils at the individual school. Each school's Unit Manager chooses meal options from a seasonal menu template. This ensures that every menu complies with legislative food based standards, and also allergen legislation. 

To give you a flavour of the range of meals available, every menu has the following common features:

  • Two hot main meals to choose from e.g. Lancashire Hotpot, Caribbean Chicken, Hoi Sin Stir Fry Noodles, Lamb Curry, all of which are of course homemade
  • Hot’ Lite Bites’ e.g. jacket potatoes with a choice of filling, paninis, hot sandwich wraps and pasta with sauce
  • Cold ‘Lite Bites’ e.g. assorted hoagies, sandwiches, baguettes and deli rolls

Whilst we incorporate a lot of 'hidden' fruits and vegetables in our recipes, you can trust that your child will always be served either salad or a hot vegetable with their menu choice.

A range of drinks, salad and extra bread is also available in all of the schools that we cater for.

If your child has a special dietary requirement we can easily arrange this, our nutrition team will work with the Unit Manager at your child's school to identify suitable menu choices, look in our 'Food' section for more information about how this can be arranged.
