City Catering Southampton employs over 300 staff within school kitchens across Southampton. We are always looking for enthusiastic people who can work over the lunchtime period to help prepare and serve lunches to pupils at our schools.

We are especially interested in customer- orientated people who like working as part of a small team in a school environment. We are able to offer term time only working with pay spread throughout the year over 26 fortnightly payments and we often have vacancies for the following roles:

Secondary School Caterer.
You will manage and take part in the provision of a cost effective catering service to a Secondary School, supervising a team of up to 10 people.  Your team will prepare, cook and service a wide menu, primarily at morning break and lunchtimes, although breakfast is also served in some secondary schools.

You will manage the kitchen resources, including all staffing related areas, to deliver a service, which exceeds the schools expectations, whilst remaining strictly within budget. You will be responsible for liaising with the school representative to ensure that the required service is provided.

You will be required to help in the setting up of the dining area and to carry out cleaning duties as required.

Primary School Supervisor.
You will supervise and take part in the provision of a cost effective catering service to a primary, infant or junior school.  You will prepare, cook and pack the required amount of meals and serve them to our customers at the appropriate time.  (You will be required to help in the setting up of the dining area and to carry out cleaning duties as required as appropriate.)

You will manage the kitchen resources, including all staffing related areas, to deliver a service which exceeds the school's expectations, whilst remaining strictly within budget. You will be responsible for liaising with the school representative to ensure that the required service is provided.

Deputy Secondary School Caterer / Deputy Primary School Supervisor.
You will assist the School Caterer / School Supervisor in the effective provision of a cost efficient catering service and deputise in their absence.

You will prepare, cook and serve food on site and transported meals as directed by the School Caterer / School Supervisor. You will be required to help in the setting up of the dining area and to carry out cleaning duties as required.

Catering Assistant.
As a catering assistant you will help prepare, cook and pack (as appropriate) meals and help serve them to customers at the appropriate time and location. In addition you will set up and clear the dining area and carry out cleaning duties.
