Hospitality Assured Award

Following assessment we are very pleased to announce that we have been re-accredited with the Hospitality Assured award for the 8th time.

The report overview stated that 'undoubtedly the most impressive aspects of Surrey Commercial Services are the team members at all levels.  Everybody appears happy, motivated and all have built very close relationships with their customers to deliver the highest standards of service.  A significant number of qualifications, awards and accolades have been achieved including various Lead Association for Catering in Education (LACA) Awards, being selected for an ITN production promoting the industry at Government level, and accreditation of the Soil Association Gold Food for Life Catering Mark.  These achievements demonstrate that the leadership of SCS are dedicated to the employees and are passionate about their development and the nuturing of talent.  It is difficult to see what cannot be achieved in the future with the enthusiasm, commitment and determination to succeed.

'The assesssment score is indicative of the hard work that has clearly been put into the Hospitality Assured journey to date and the considerable amount of work that has been undertaken.

'Talent is identified informally and considerable training opportunities are avaliable for personal development and upward progression.  There are many success stories of front line staff rising through the organisation structure to senior roles.  SCS are proud that most mangers are homegrown.

'There is an ethos of pride in the service and caterers are keen to offer the best service delivery.  This was evident at all schools visited during the assessment.  Food tastings are held prior to the launch of new menus, thoughts collected and any revisions to menus actioned.  Processes for children with severe allergies are embedded.

'Customer Service Improvement has recently been reviewed and a strap line produced, "Feeding Surrey's children for a healthy future".  Regular review of the product and service offering is at the heart of the operational model at SCS in response to legislation, food standards, customer feedback and the bespoke needs of each school.  This ensures that the business stays at the forefront of its competitors by delivering relevant products and services to a consistently high standard which meet the ever rising expectations of their customer groups and the evolving marketplace.'
