Working with the Welsh Government, the council have introduced breakfast clubs in many schools within the county borough. Breakfast clubs are open before school from 8am and provide pupils with breakfast, which includes a variety of items, such as: brown toast, fruit juice, a selection of cereals, sugar-free jam, fresh fruit and milk.
They are ideal for parents that have to leave early for work in the mornings.
Breakfast has long been recognised as the most important meal of the day and research suggests that children who have the opportunity to eat a healthy and nutritious breakfast prior to the start of the school day are more likely to achieve their full educational potential.
If your School does not have a Breakfast Club provision, please contact the Head Teacher at your child’s school.
